The Hurricanes raised the funds during two home games, the weekend of January 17th and 18th. Throughout the weekend, athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families were invited as guests of the Hurricanes to enjoy some great U15 Major hockey action and receive well deserved recognition for their dedication and achievements.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the Hurricanes program to celebrate the athletes and support such an important organization in our community.

 

Each year teams from the NS U15 Major Hockey league raise funds for Special Olympics Nova Scotia.

Parents, players and team staff all get involved and use manty different ways to raise money for this great cause. They have done baking sales, ticket sales, raffles etc.

Teams also attend and play in events with and against Special Olympic teams!

On February 18^th the NS U15 Major league was invited to attend the Special Olympics Inspired gala event in Halifax.

In less than 4 years, the NS U15 Major Hockey league has raised over $100, 000 for Special Olympics.
