The Novas were on the road this past weekend in NSMBHL action. On Saturday they were in Berwick where they faced off against the Kings Mutual Valley Wildcats and skated away with a 2-1 win in a low scoring defensive affair. Scoring for the Novas, with both goals was, Logan Chisholm for his League Leading 13^th & 14^th goals of the season. Jake Stewart, Matthew Ellis & Mason Grant provided the helps on the goals. Owen MacDonald stopped 20 of the 21 shots that the Wildcats fired at his new.
On Sunday, the Novas stopped in to see the Bearcats on the way home and were victorious in a high scoring 6-5 game. Ewan MacDonald tended the nets for the Novas turning aside 30 of the 35 shots he faced. The Novas were led offensively by Matthew Ellis with his first hat-trick of his young bantam career. Logan Chisholm, Chase Ellis & Matthew Raike picked up singles to round out the scoring.
The Novas take a break from League action this weekend and travel to Moncton to participate in the Monctonian AAA Challenge. In Round Robin play they will face off against The Moncton Hawks at 8:30am Thursday morning, the Dartmouth Whalers Thursday at 7:00PM and finally against the Prince County Warriors on Friday at 2:45PM.
