The Novas' Liam Berthiaume has been awarded the NSMBHL Player of The Week. Liam is a first year bantam who cracked The Nova’s lineup late out of training camp. Although from Pictou County, Liam has strong family and hockey roots in Antigonish, where his father and uncle were standouts with the Junior A Bulldogs in the late 90’s. Liam has been consistently improving his game over the course of the season and has become one of the more aggressive and physical forwards in The Nova’s line-up. On Saturday, Liam scored the third and go ahead goal in the 2nd period against the Bedford Barons after being down 2-0 early in the first. When regulation and overtime did not result in a decision, Liam captured the win for The Nova’s when he scored in the 5th round and the final shot of the shootout.
