HEAD COACH- PAUL HUNT

Paul was the Head Coach of the U15 Major Gulls for the 2021/2022 season.  Prior to that he served as the Head Coach of the U18 Major Wolfpack for the 2019/2020 season having spent the 2018/2019 season with the Wolfpack as an Assistant Coach.  He was the Head Coach of the U18 Major Mustangs during the 2017/2018 season.

Paul spent eight seasons at the U15 Major level with the Gulls and the Rangers as both an Assistant Coach and a Head Coach.  He helped lead those programs to three Provincial banners and one Atlantic Championship.  He is an active member of Hockey Nova Scotia’s High Performance Program (“HPP”) having served as both an Assistant Coach and Head Coach at the U14 and U15 levels.  He was recently appointed the 2022 HPP Director of Operations for the U14 and U15 male teams.  During 2018, he had the opportunity to represent Nova Scotia as an Assistant Coach at QMJHL Gatorade Challenge Cup.

He has more than 16 years of non-parent coach experience and holds a Hockey Canada High Performance 1 Coaching Program Certificate.  Paul enjoys all aspects of the game of hockey including the opportunity to mentor and develop players and other coaches all while helping them achieve their individual and team goals. His passion for hockey is infectious!

ASSISTANT COACH- NICK ORMON

Nick is a product of the Chebucto Minor Hockey Association.  After finishing up PeeWee hockey with the Chebucto Atlantics he moved on to play for the Gulls Major Bantams where he was named an assistant captain during his second season.  It was with the Gulls that Nick had his first opportunity to work closely with defence coach Paul Hunt and to once again play for Ja-red Glazebrook whom he previously played for as a member of the Chebucto Atlantics.  Next, he played for the Halifax McDonalds Major Midgets where he was appointed captain during his second season.  

Afterwards, he went to Northwood Prep School in Lake Placid, New York for two years, which resulted in the opportunity to move out west and play for the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL and the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL.  Nick finished his junior hockey career back home playing for the South Shore Lumberjacks where he had the opportunity to play alongside his younger brother Matt.  Nick has represented Nova Scotia numerous times as a member of the U14, U15, and U16 Hockey Nova Scotia High Performance Program teams.

Nick has been an assistant coach with the U16AAA Admirals and the U13AAA Chebucto Atlantics.  During the 2021/2022 season Nick joined the Gulls coaching staff working primarily with the defence core and is currently the assistant coach with the Hockey Nova Scotia U14 High Performance Program team.

Nick is excited to once again team up with Paul and Ja-red to help build a strong Bandits program!

ASSISTANT COACH- BRANDON PIKE

Brandon has been coaching minor hockey in HRM for the past 5 seasons.  He started his coaching career with the Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association serving the U18A and U18AA teams from 2017 to 2019. Since then, he has had the pleasure of coaching in the Eastern Shore Minor Hockey Association with the U13AAA Mariners from 2019 to 2022.  

He has enjoyed two successful trips to Quebec with the U13AAA Mariners, winning the International PeeWee BSR tournament in 2020 and making it to the semi finals, and ultimately finishing third, at the Quebec International PeeWee Tournament in 2022.  Brandon was selected as a Camp Coach for the 2022 Hockey Nova Scotia U14 High Performance Program.  

Brandon grew up playing minor hockey in Cole Harbour as a Red Wing from the age of 5.  He then went on to play his Junior and Senior careers on the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland for the Port aux Basques Mariners in the Central West Junior Hockey League and the West Coast Senior Hockey League. 

Brandon is excited to support Paul and Ja-red as they strive to build a successful Bandits program!
